1. Plan Your Route: Charging Up for the Journey

Before you hit the road, make sure to plan your route and identify charging stations along the way. Apps likePlugShareChargePointEVgoand the Tesla app can help you find the best spots to top up your battery.ChargeHub has a trip planning toolas well that is very helpful.

Pro Tip: Check the availability and type of chargers (Level 2 or DC Fast Chargers) at each station and what adapters you may need. It’s always good to have a backup plan in case your first choice is occupied.

2. Charging Stations in Seaside: Stay Powered Up

Seaside offers several convenient charging stations to keep your EV powered throughout your stay. Here are some top spots to charge up:

  • Seaside Outlet Mall Located at 1111 N Roosevelt Drive, this spot offers Level 2 chargers, perfect for a shopping break while your car charges.
  • City of Seaside Public Parking: Located at 760 S Roosevelt Drive, this public parking area provides Level 2 chargers, ideal for exploring downtown Seaside.
  • Tesla Supercharger: Located at 1010 12th Avenue, these superchargers are perfect for Tesla owners needing a quick top-up.
  • Ruby’s Grill: Enjoy a meal and charge your car at Ruby’s. There is only one charger, that is free, but there are mixed reviews on uptime so consider this one a nice to have if it works.
  • Seaside Park & Pay: Located at 420 Avenue A, offers four charges but is a paid lot.

Pro Tip: Many hotels and accommodations in Seaside, including Cascadia Getaways, are also starting to offer EV charging options. Check with your rental property before you arrive. Cascadia Getaways is currently working to install chargers and does not have any installed quite yet in Seaside.

3. Additional Tips

Bring Converters: You always want to be ready with the right adapter in case your charging connection is not the default.

Check Apps Required: Some charging stations operate with different apps to handle payment. It is always a great idea to check in advance and download and set up any required apps as service may be limited.

Bring an Extension Cord: You never know when you will need slow charging, so it is always a great idea to bring an extension cord just in case!
