Family Friendly Rentals

The tell is simple: these are the homes where the owners bring their own kids. That changes what's in a house. A playset in the yard that's actually maintained. A bunk room the kids claim as theirs the moment they walk in. A separate space where a movie can run without taking over the living room. Gear that's already there — so you're not packing a portable crib into a car that's full. Every property in this collection has something specific for children, not just enough beds to fit them. We didn't assemble this list by bedroom count. We built it from the homes where a family arrives, unloads, and the kids disappear into the yard before the bags are inside. Across Mt. Hood, the Oregon Coast, and Willamette Valley wine country. Cascadia Getaways is employee-owned and Oregon-based, managed by people who live in these towns and have kids of their own. Book direct and skip the 15–20% in fees the big platforms charge — which matters when you're paying for four people instead of two.

This was a wonderful home for our family trip, and the kids especially loved the loft bedroom with the climbing rope. A nice location, too - quiet, close to some lovely waterfall hikes and river wading spots, and a short drive to Portland for great food.

Our large group loved our stay here. Lots of rooms and different bed configurations help manage who slept where. Great game room and I liked how there were two living rooms. Just up the street from a nice shopping center with a grocery store and lots of food options. I would definitely stay here again.

Great experience-comfortable beds and furniture, well stocked with towels and blankets, kitchen had everything we needed. And the view of Mt Hood was fantastic - great way to start the day with a cup of coffee on the back porch seeing sunrise and Mt Hood. Game room was a lot of fun as was shooting some hoops. Family of four - all adults - and loved the space.

Love this huge house! The kitchen is great for communal cooking and there are lots of spaces to hang out and do different things. The hot tub was great, and super clean. We will be back; this was a luxurious home base for our long weekend on the mountain.

Frequently asked questions

Something specific for kids, not just room for them. A playset or fenced yard, a dedicated bunk or kids' room, a separate play space, or gear already on site. Plenty of our homes sleep a family comfortably and aren't here — the bar is whether a child has somewhere of their own.

Outdoor play equipment is noted on each property page. Several of our Mt. Hood and Willamette Valley homes have maintained playsets and fenced yards.

Varies by property, and each listing spells out what's on site. Message us with your kids' ages before booking and we'll confirm exactly what's there so you know what to pack.

That's much of the point. Many of these homes have a game room, bonus room, or finished basement where kids can be loud while the adults have the living room back.

Many family homes include a hot tub. Children should always be supervised, and each property provides safety guidance in the house manual. If you'd rather stay somewhere without one, tell us and we'll point you elsewhere.

Many of these are also pet friendly. Pet fees and any breed or size limits are on individual property pages.

Our large group and reunion rentals are built for that — multiple gathering spaces and kitchens sized for cooking one big meal instead of six small ones.
