Late summer through harvest in September and October is the classic window, and also the busiest. Spring is quieter and the tasting rooms have more time for you. Winter is the value season — fewer crowds, and rates drop meaningfully.

Yes — several of these homes are pet friendly, and the wine towns themselves are unusually dog-tolerant. A number of tasting rooms have patios where dogs are welcome.
